Kissavos Refuge and Summit
The hike begins shortly after the village of Spilia, which is few kilometers far away from Larissa. Initially, a green trail enchants the hikers. Then in the gloom, the sun in the deep breezes, and just above, in the woods with beautiful passages, the birds continue their song unabated.
The trail is about 2 to 2:30 hours, steady walking.
Arriving at the refuge you can enjoy a hot drink. The building is located at 2000 meters and can accommodate 60 people for sleep and 500 people for food in case of need. You can also reach the refuge by car.
From there the summit of Kissavos is a 1:30 hour hike. The road is steep, without difficult passages. At the top, if the weather permits, you can enjoy the incredible view. To the north is the Mount Olympus, the highest mountain of Greece and to the south, the lush forests of Kissavos. To the west with clear visibility you can see the Pindos mountain range as a wall and to the east the Aegean Sea, Halkidiki and the Mount Athos.
